What it changes in the music

Crossfader curves and channel assignments determine how the blend behaves. A central position does not always mean the same perceived balance across devices or settings. Channel gain, equalization and the recordings’ own density still influence the result. Learn the actual response of your mixer before relying on a memorized physical position during a transition.

A small experiment

With conservative channel levels, move between two authorized tracks slowly and listen to how their contributions change. Compare the center with your intended musical balance.

Keep this distinction clear

A crossfader is not a complete low-end handover by itself. Two basslines can still overlap strongly while the overall blend position appears balanced.
